Writing that title made me remember I have a way overdue library book, I'll have to take care of that when I'm done!
Anyway, as you probably guessed by my not raving about it, I didn't get the job at the elementary school. They decided to go for someone who had experience working with handicapped kids, which I'm actually relieved about. I don't know how I would do helping multiple handicapped kids, and I'd rather someone who knows what they are doing do it, you know? It's still a bummer but I've got a few more hopes.
The test at the library went really well. I aced the first part, alphabetizing and call number ordering, and I feel fine about the second part, which they don't grade until after we leave. It was just a basic skills test, and Tebben said it sounded a lot like the asvab(I think that's what he called it) that you have to take to get into the Army, and he got a 99, so I think it'll be fine.
They'll be calling for interviews sometime in the next two weeks, and they call you and tell you if they don't want to interview you, too, so I'll least I'll know what's up with that.
This Tuesday I'm taking the Champaign school district secretarial skills test, and they don't start interviewing until the 7th, so hopefully my sweet skills will blow them away. Most of the positions required 35wpm, and I'm at 57, so as long as my nerves don't suddenly act up that should be easy enough. I think that has a basic skills test to it as well, grammer and logic type things.
We got Tebben entirely moved out of his apartment (well, not entirely, he still has his circa 1970 terrifying mannequin left there) and we cleaned well over half of it. I doubt his lousy roommate will clean at all, but he claims he will do some. I wrote him out a specific list of everything we cleaned and everything he needs to. The people moving in after Tebben waived their right to have the apartment cleaned so they could move in early, so we get the security deposit back either way, but I still feel bad for the people moving in. Tebben's roommate kept the apartment so filthy, and then left halfway through spring semester. Every time Tebben would get it nice and clean his roommate would visit and trash the place and then leave. We came back one time after he'd come and left, and there were takeout containers all over the floor covered in ants, and the sink was full of dirty dishes. So when we were cleaning yesterday we piled up all his nasty dirty dishes in a plastic container and left them in his bedroom, so the people moving in early would have a nice clean kitchen and we wouldn't have to do his nasty dishes like we always do.
Tebben is in Hanna City visiting for the week, and I'm done with work at Strawberry fields, so all that's left is for me to clean my entire apartment and finish packing. At least I have a whole week to do it, instead of just one afternoon, like we did (due to our own poor planning) at Tebben's.

Hey, sorry about the job, but one of the other ones will work out. Your moving out of Tebben´s sounds a lot like how we moved out of my place, only the roommates were way messier, and we didn´t even try to clean a little bit. Have fun packing up your place, and tell us when you get your new job. Lots of love
You probably should get your overdue book back to the library where you applied for a job! I'm sure there's a better job waiting out there for you, which is why you didn't get the teaching aide position. And remember, every interview is good experience.
I agree with everything Mom and Dad Pyle said. It's all good.
College roommates. Gross. I'm glad Heidi cleaned up after herself. (Juli and I shared a dorm room the size of a closet so it really just couldn't get messy or we wouldn't be able to get in the door.) In law school, one of Joe's friend's got so fed up with his roommate, that he took his nasty dirty dishes and put them in his roomie's bathtub. I think later, too, he found a Christmas tree on his bed.... yeah, they did NOT keep in touch.
Heaps of luck! I know how stressful the job hunt is. I'll be thinking of you!
