I've been way lazy about posting, but we just haven't had anything to interesting to write about lately. Tebben is very busy with class, and I am very busy with work, and we still don't have anywhere to live in July. Things definitely aren't bad, they just aren't very interesting.
We have been having some pretty good luck with our food experiments, though, and food is something universally interesting. I was really in the mood for bagel chips with my hummus today, but we didn't have any. I did, however have an everything bagel, so I sliced it into really thin bagel chip size pieces, and baked it! I did 350 for 10 min, flipped them, and did 3 or 4 more minutes, and they were really really good. As good as pre-made bagel chips, but without all the oil or butter or whatever it is they put on them. It kind of fits in with our new goal of trying to make all of our meals out of whole foods, but I didn't make the bagel myself, so it really doesn't count.
Another fantastic thing we tried the other day was butterless mashed potatoes. I'm something of a mashed potato aficionado, and I couldn't even tell they weren't packed with butter! I did 4 golden potatoes, about 3tbsp milk, 2tbsp parmesan cheese, and some chopped artichoke hearts (they were packed in oil, but were still only about 20 calories a piece) mmmm it was so good.
I was just reminded of one major change in our lives- Our neighbor just bought a trombone and is teaching him or herself how to play it, all day, everyday. We still haven't figured out exactly which apartment it's coming from, but we can hear it even with all our windows up. Trombone scales about every half hour. It's completely impossible to get used to. And when he/she gets tired of scales, they do that thing on a trombone where you just blow and move the slide from all the way in to all the way out over and over.

Mmmm..... those potatoes sound scrumptious! Let's put them on the list to eat when you are here! Which is only one month away!
