This Summer is so Busy!

This has been the busiest summer I've ever had, but it's so exciting too! The summer camps I've been doing have been so fun, and led me to decide what I want to do as a career, which is so exciting. For those of you in the dark, I've decided to get my library masters as well as a teacher certification to be an elementary school librarian! My elementary school librarian was one of my most favorite people in the world, and she always had fun activities when we'd go to the library and she would pick books out special just for me.

The thing that made me decide for 100% sure, though, were the kids Andy and I worked with at the PBS station. They are from a Boys and Girls Club that provides almost completely free all day summer day care for kids. I can't even describe how fun it was working with them, they were all so sassy and cute and had such strong personalities it was just so much fun! On August 10th the PBS station is holding a premier party for the film, and the kids are making a huge dinner for it, and they get to invite all their friends and family, and they were so excited that Andy and I were going to be there (Andy inspired quite a few crushes it was great).

On August 9th (My mom's birthday!!) Andy and I are throwing our own little premier party for all the kids in our three summer camps. We're going to show each kid's movie and have snacks and stuff. I get to plan it, and I'm way excited.

Those are the only definite plans I have for the whole month of August, isn't that annoying?? I have to figure out a way to move, house two carsick cats and find a place for Tebben and I to live, and still (I hope I hope) get to go to Alabama. Luckily we decided last night to get a storage unit for the entire month of August, which has take a considerable amount of stress off of me. We're going to get it on Monday of next week, and start moving stuff into it all throughout August, so by the 12th, we'll be all moved out of both places. We'll have it for the whole month, though, so we won't have to stress ourselves out even more trying to move it all in a few hours. I'm so happy we're going to do that, and it turns out the most helpful and polite storage company I called was also the cheapest, so that's always nice.

I called the library I applied to and wasn't able to talk to the woman in charge of hiring. The woman I did talk to, though, said that they would be calling for interviews withing the next few days. I keep having dreams that the library calls to tell me I forgot to include some phone numbers so they threw out my application or that they emailed me for an interview but it went in my spam box and I got it too late. So only 1 more week of that! Ha!

Hey I know those Boys and Girls club kids! I worked with them for a couple of years with an engineering outreach program. We visited the club and did science experiments with them; they loved it. They are a lot of fun; I agree!
